ABOUT OCADO GROUP
Ocado Group is a UK-based online supermarket with a history dating back to 2000, when the Group was first founded by four former merchant bankers as a concept start-up which commenced its trading in partnership with Waitrose in 2002.
In 2009, the Group released its ‘Ocado on the Go’ app, a platform which provided consumers with the option to purchase groceries online. This was followed by the launching of the Ocado Smart Platform, company-owned software for operating retail businesses online.
In 2018, the Group began to expand the international reach of its online operations, completing negotiations for an Ocado Smart Platform deal with Canada’s second largest supermarket chain, Sotheby’s. In the same year the Group signed an Ocado Smart Platform deal with US retail company Kroger, to build up to 20 Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) using Ocado’s automated technologies.
In 2019 Marks & Spencer acquired a 50% share in Ocado’s UK retail business.
Today the Group operates as the world’s largest dedicated online grocery retailer, conducting all home deliveries from its warehouses. Its product portfolio consists of groceries from the Waitrose supermarket brand alongside its own Ocado brand, as well as name brand groceries and other speciality items such as flowers, toys and magazines.

MARKET PERFORMANCE OF OCADO GROUP
