Camping World Holdings, Inc. is an American company specializing in selling recreational vehicles, recreational vehicle parts as well as recreational vehicle services. It also sells accessories such as generators, used travel trailers, recreational vehicle appliances and satellite receivers. The company also offers vehicle finance and protection plans.

  • In 1966 Camping World Holdings begins as a small store in Beech Bend Park amusement park near Bowling Green. The store is opened by David Garvin, son of the owner of the park, after campers request a place where supplies could be bought.
  • The store grows as the years go by and a mail-order division is later added. Garvin sells Camping World in 1997 to its current owners, Good Sam Enterprises (formerly known as the Affinity Group).
  • In 2007 the company opens the Camping World RV Sales dealership which was formerly known as Stout’s RV. This is the start of the expansion of its dealerships to the almost 230 it has today.
  • Camping World Holdings, Inc. also operates In 2017 the company expands into fishing and hunting gear by buying Gander Mountain. This deal includes Gander Outdoors and Overton’s brands.
  • NASCAR’s Truck Series has been sponsored by Camping World since 2009 and will come to an end in 2022. The company also has major sponsorship involvement with the Indy Racing League and NASCAR. In 2019 Camping World buys Coates RV with locations based in Cloquet and Hugo in Minnesota.
