Formerly known as Dunlop Kenya Limited (DKL), Olympia Capital Holdings Limited was established as a branch of Dunlop United Kingdom in 1968, carrying out the business involved with manufacturing vinyl floor tiles, adhesives, and a portfolio of sporting equipment.

In 1970, the company was formally registered in Kenya where its shares started trading on the Nairobi Stock Exchange in 1976. In 1999, Dunlop Industries Limited was registered as a wholly-owned DKL subsidiary, continuing the primary business of the company while DKL concentrated on investments.

In 2001, Olympia Capital Holdings Limited completed a purchase of Olympia Capital Corporation in Botswana. Through this newly purchased entity, Olympia Capital Holdings Limited could acquire 100% shareholding of Kalahari Floor Tiles, or KFT, in Gaborone in Botswana, the largest manufacturer of tiles in the Southern part of Africa.

In 2005, Olympia Capital Holdings Limited Botswana was listed successfully on the Botswana Stock Exchange as a subsidiary of Olympia Capital Holdings Limited Kenya. Olympia Capital Holdings Limited completed a purchase of most of the control of Avon Rubber company in 2006, a company involved with the manufacturing and distribution of tyre products.

In 2008, Olympia Capital Holdings Limited purchased most of the control of Mather + Platt Kenya Limited, a leading fire and mechanical engineering contracting company in East Africa today.

Olympia Capital Holdings Limited purchased 100% of the real estate company Gaborone Enterprises in 2014, with an extensive portfolio of commercial and residential properties in both Botswana and South Africa.
